Comeonnow and I just checked WILSONS RESERVOIR, and there is about 5-6 inches of ice, edges are a little less (no, we are not "officially deeming it safe" because there are always risks associated with ice fishing so please use your own best judgement).

Location: WILSONS RESERVOIR, which is off of East Wallum Lake Road in Pascoag (NOT Wakefield Pond)
- 7:00am registration

Tournament date: Saturday, 1/25
Tournament time: 7:30-12:00
Donation: $10 per angler

Heaviest bass: $100 gift certificate to Big Bear Bait & Tackle
2nd prize: Gift certificate to Teds Bait Shop

Where to buy bait: Big Bear (rt 44 in Harmony) and Teds (reservoir road, Pascoag)

And PLEASE, due to ice thicknesses- we ask you do not bring ATV's or snow machines. Sure you understand.

That's right 1st and 2nd place only. Biggest BASS and second biggest BASS by weight.

The champ is here!!!

What an awesome day out on Wilson's today. It was great meeting Half Hooked, Comeonnow, and Bassman today. If I forgot anyone else, I apologize, I'm terrible with names. Truly an awesome event and was happy to be a part of it. Hats off and a BIG thank you.

As far as the fishing, I was chasing flags from the minute I set up my first tilt. On my first drop setting up my Arctic Warrior, I hooked a pickerel. They were everywhere and super aggressive. I had one hit a shiner with a sounder still attached, then also hit just the sounder another time. From about 7:30 to 9:30 it was all pickerel, which as well know wasn't what we were after.

Then 10:00 rolled around and I got a flag. The line was screaming off the spool when I got there. As I started the fight, there were weeds all over the line. The pressure was on with Half Hooked's grandson standing next to me. More weeds, then finally I got to the swivel and saw a big head cruise by the hole. Once I got the bass landed and snapped a picture, I got on the horn for a weigh in. After it was all said and done, the bass checked in at three pounds seven ounces, just edging out the leader at the time by an ounce.

As the day went on I was on pins and needles hoping the fish would hold up and it did. I went to Big Bear right after I left and bought some more bait and a little bit of gear.

Once again though, this was a great event and had an awesome time. The food was perfect, so was the beer (even though I don't even like Budweiser Diet). Once again, hats off to Comeonnow and RIFish. A top notch event.

Another great tourney organized by BASSRI. Congrats to Brendog and the other winners. Big thanks to all of today's anglers. Once again Shanty members outnumbered all others. Nice to see so many of us supporting a great charity. THANKS!!!!!
