I feel your pain, i've lost a phone or two.  My record was lost one on a snowmobile ride less than 24 hours after buying it....

They sell fishing tethers now to save your phone from taking a dip.

I tried to get my wife to go down through an ice hole to get my phone... but it was a no go.  Then she called the police too.

What a great story. Crazy how everything that falls aims right for that hole. I even keep a 250lb magnet in my sled now with a roll of mason cord. Just in case something like my keys take a dive.

I learned my lesson after I dropped my phone down the hole.   Bought a phone lanyard and tied it to my suit.

I can just see a cartoon where a bottom structure is made of cell phones with fish hanging around it.

Or a cell phone is ringing on the bottom and fish are looking at it.

Yes,..your wife did right,..by calling..Even when my husband or son go hard water fishing and I can't go..I worry when they don't answer my calls.
