I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

OK I'll clarify. As of this last Monday it was wide open. Even if it skimmed back over again it is nowhere near fishable yet. Especially seeing as 20 feet off the boat ramp your in 25 feet of water. If you want to chance it you got bigger cajones than me my friend.

The cove to the east is always first to freeze... Your source must not be local. The far northwest end clear up by the horse bridge barely had skimmed as of Tuesday when I duck hunted it...

Was just there myself yesterday and drilled 3-4 holes the white ice was all of 3" or better and the dark ice was barely 2" before 9 am and I'm sure most of that got fairly soft with yesterday's temps. Don't think I'll be fishing it anytime soon.

Although mike from DG&g's ice reports are typically true, the drunk normally lies on fishing reports in order to sell more bait! Just a fair warning lol

4" of ice today. a few hundred yards south of the ramp. decent bite and a dozen keeper crappies. Use caution and take a spud bar. stay east of the creek channel

Just a quick update. I was in the area so I thought I'd swing by and check the ice. The north ramp had just shy of 2 inches and the south ramp was around 1.5 inches. Still need some more cold to get to a safe thickness. There were a few pockets of open water I saw driving around, but almost everything had at least a skim of ice from my view. With the weather predicted, it might be safe again after Christmas at the earliest.

There were 2 guys on Saturday with about 3.5 inches. There is a break line off the corner of the boat ramp. Everything south of that break is no good. Stay safe guys

Headed tomorrow with the truck probably won't drive out yet. I'll wait since ice just formed AGAIN a couple days ago. Never know why bring it if you can't use it.
