I feel your pain. I'm in northeast Illinois. Been rough dealing with this warm winter. Forecast here isn't real good. When that happens, I go north to south east Wisconsin. I've been watching the ice reports here and on lake link.com. Weather forecast here says low 40's and rain next week,  that ain't good. Hoping in a couple weeks when it's free fishing weekend in Wisconsin there's gonna be some ice in south east Wisconsin. Trying to stay positive.

What lake has 3-6 inches?  I live on a smaller one in WB and we had open water this morning and about 50% coverage.  Must be a really small lake.  Smith?  Maybe the kettle at Silver?  I'm curious now.

Central Wisconsin had 2-3  this weekend. Was zero this morning so should be at least 4 by weekend. I haven't been out yet as like walking on 4 or more.

I was on about 3 inches of ice on a small pond near golden lake today.

Guys fishing on the ice off the beach on Lac la Belle Oconomowoc last couple of days. Small gills, better crappies later but still fishable. Next few days will change, rain melting , light snow but Saturday thru Thursday looks like serious ice making weather.

To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!
