Good evening. WW did get a day of fishing in, and managed some nice gills. Went prepared with rain suits, and took along a pop up ground blind, that we would hunker down in if faced  with heavy rain.

Just watched the Colorado Av’s win the overtime first game with Dallas (2nd round of NHL playoffs).  They came from being behind 3-0

Now daughter will stay until Friday, trying to miss bad weather driving back to Wisconsin.

Word now is my County have canceled all schools for tomorrow due to sever weather that is forecasted.

              Good morning ER's,
It's 47* and raining here on my hill ::)
Wally............What a beautiful day to get on the trike and go for some ice cream.
Bud..............That's the way to go, be prepared for any weather. I'm glad you caught some Gills. How was the boat launch? ???
Eddie............Is it a computer problem or a server problem? ???
                         Steve............Well said.
Yesterday I got a last minute request to go pressure wash a dock and stain it. It was one I did two years ago on Trout Lake. I got it pressure washed
but now I have to wait for a dry day to stain, it looks like next Wednesday or Thursday.
I'm back to therapy this morning, we'll see how it goes.
I hope everyone has a good Wednesday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

51* and raining.

Mr. C, I agree with you on not "talking" politics on here but it becomes hard to hold back when THEY burn our Flag, shout "death to America" all in the name of FREE speech. Try that over there.

WW, you do have the browns dialed in. Will past the info on to my nephew. He is just about "counting" the days.

IFF, I tried to watch the OT in the Rangers game, fell asleep between the 1st and 2nd OT, I had had a long day.

As I mentioned to IFF, long day yesterday. We got on the road just after 3am. Got south of Newburgh and tuned in WABC to get a traffic report, they were reporting 40+ minute delay on the GWB but the accident must have gotten cleared and we were actually a little early for the wife's appointments. Because of my ankle I stayed in the car and "people" watched. We will get the results of blood work and the CAT scan sometime today. About 10 years ago (when this all started) we had came across a very good diner in Englewood NJ. We stopped there for lunch. It is being run by the daughter of the woman who ran it back then. Very good food and VERY nice family.

I got to "drive" the CRV and can say I am very pleased. We got just over 39mpg going down and just under that coming home but we were running the AC for awhile.

Not much planned for today, catch up on things around here. Have a good day and be safe....h2l

Steve, I think we can all agree that when a bunch of people denigrate our flag, country, and values, we need to be able to express our opinions on here!! I spent 21 years defending our right to do so!! No offence meant!! :flex:

That is what I like about this group of folks, we might disagree or agree on something and rant about it for a bit and then everyone just moves on and we respect everyone's comments on here and do not bash on each other.

Rain here right now and we have had some horrible winds the last couple of days, Mother's day weekend looks to have some nice weather so hoping to be able to take the wife out and catch some fish and have a good weekend with her.  Have a good one everyone been a busy but slow week at work everyone.

Good evening, like others rain this morning which gave way to a sunny warm day with a high at 4 this afternoon of 85 degrees with a 10-15 mph wind at times. I attended the Cornwall boy's varsity lacrosse game with Kingston high school this afternoon game started as i expected with Kingston up 4 goals to zero for Cornwall at halftime. third and fourth quarters saw sloppy play by both teams and exchange of goals  Cornwall never had the lead did close game to a 3 goal difference final score was 9 goals to 6 in favor of Kingston.

IFF glad you were able to-do some fishing with your daughter and had protection from the rain on hand. May today's storms not have caused major damage in your county. Best wished for your daughter's return trip to Wisconsin.
ice Wanderer thank you for the compliment try to choose my words carefully not looking for an argument with anyone here on ice Shanty. May your area see a few dry days so you can get the dock stained. I hope things went well for you at today's therapy session.
Hunts2long if the suspected Gout continues get to a doctor for treatment so can have less/no pain and get treatment that helps keep your mobile. Some impressive gas mileage per gallon with the CRV. Glad the accident had been cleared by the time you arrived at the GWB. Nice that the diner in Englewood is now in second generation of family ownership and the quality of food and service is still good.
Wallyworld think you picked the right day for the bike ride would have been hot on your bike today.
OldSailor  I thank you. Ice Wanderer and Hunts2long for your respective years of military service and realize your first period of service may have come because of the draft in place during the Vietnam war. Sadly as the war went on opinion on the U.S. being involved changed for a segment of the public and soldiers came home to receive less then respectful treatment for their service in many cases. Those events and others helped to form the opinions you have today.
Fish/hunt4ever I think being her on Ice Shanty is an escape for other aspects of all of our respective lives and most of us have better things to do they get into Intrnet arguments.
Eddie Hope you can get the computer problems fixed and we see more frequent posts from you.

A safe and good Thursday wished for everyone. Best to all fishing.

               Good morning ER's,
It's 42* and partly cloudy here on my hill. ::)
Bud............That's the beauty of being retired, being able to fish during the week when the rest are working.
H2l.............That's great mileage, and with the price of gas rising you should save quite a bit.
Wally...........I started counting down at 4 years. It started as a joke, our division was closed down and we were transferred to another
division in Manchester New Hampshire. Our first day the division manager asked me how I liked being there, my answer was "I'll tell you in 4 years"
someone yelled out "How many days is that" That night I went back to my room and figured it out. At the next meeting I was asked the question again.
And i spewed out the number of days. :roflmao:
Steve.......... My decision to go in the Navy was, having going to military school, NYMA. I knew what the army was aboutand i rather take my  chances
on a ship. No matter what service one was in there was always a chance of being sent to Viet Nam.
Fish.............I hope you have perfect weather this weekend.
Yesterday's therapy session was pretty easy, my therapist didn't want top push it to hard the first day back. I'm cleared for 25 more sessions.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

49* and a few clouds.

WW, yes the CRV is a hybrid.

IW, I was in the Sea Scouts when in HS, so the Navy was 1st choice. I got out in January of '65 just as things were heating up. Talk of being extended was already being talked about. I knew a couple guys that were on the ship that was captured in the Gulf of Tonkin!

Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

MrC....it was very warm/humid yesterday until the t-storms moved in  ::)

IFF....hope there hasn't been any damage from the storms down your way  :-\

FH4.....Friday's just around the corner  ;)2

A couple errands today then another round of mowing  :flex:  hopefully all the rain since Sunday won't create any issues

Good evening 57 outside currently. Cooler today with a high in the low to mid seventies. last i checked rain in tomorrow's forecast.
Ice Wanderer once you get back into therapy routine may you see an improvement from your current condition. I have to remember that you are a military prep. school graduate.
Hunts2long thank you for sharing some of your life story with us and reason for you deciding to join the navy.
Wallyworld sudden jumps in temperature and humidity levels never welcome be me as my body needs time to adjust to changes. may the lawn mowing have gone well for you today.
OldSailor thank you also for sharing about you choice to enter navy right after graduating high school.
IFF hope all is good with you i have seen reports of tornados in parts of your state.

Have a good night.

49* and some very light rain.

Yesterday morning when I got up my ankle was "killing" me, plus the other ankle didn't feel that great, maybe setting in the car on Tuesday wasn't the best plan. Any way, my brother had had a bout with the gout awhile back. I had tried calling him on Monday when my ankle was acting up but he didn't answer, Tuesday when we got home from NYC I drove up and he wasn't home. I called him yesterday early and his wife has been back in the hospital since last weekend, she had fell at home and is doing better. "Anyway" he had some pills that his Dr. had prescribed for gout and he dropped off a couple. They seem to have worked as I am feeling "much" better this morning. Still going to take it easy today. At times yesterday I thought about getting the chainsaw out, it couldn't be any worst.

WW, the Dr.s in NYC all have given the wife the "green" light for her upcoming surgery on Tuesday. That is at St. Peters in Albany and will be coming home the same day.

Scout has to go to the vets this morning for her yearly shots.

Have a good day and be well....h2l

             Good morning Doug, ER's,
It's 46* and cloudy here on my hill. ::)
H2l............Maybe you should make an appointment with your doctor and get a prescription of your own
Bud...........I saw on the news that Tennessee got hammered with some bad storms, I hope your area was spared.
OS............I went to college for one one year and was guaranteed a class A school. Since I scored high mechanically, I was sent to Machinery  Repairman
school. Ironically it didn't teach how to repair anything but I learned how to run a lathe and mills, making parts to be replaced on a ship. They sent ne to Guam
             aboard a Sub Tender.
Wally.........I've yet to have mowed my lawn, but it's close.
Steve........When doing my exercises at therapy my arm shakes a lot especially when I'm lifting, they need to concentrate more on strength.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

No expo this weekend, but the Wednesday night market starts this next Wednesday. Hopefully the boat will be on the water the next couple of days. The kids have play practice tomorrow so will see how that affects my day on the water.  Hopefully have some updates tomorrow.  Safe travels to all those on the road and have a great end of Friday and a great start to Saturday.

UGGH!!!!!
It's already started. Towns under evacuation alerts in Alberta, BC and the NWT due to wild fires.
The two highways that lead to the South from Yellowknife and all other locations on the Eastern side of the NWT are closed.
No escape if it hits the fan and the winds are blowing 40mph.  ::)

43* and cloudy.

IW, I called my Dr. on Thursday and the office was closed. Left a message and got no call back. I like him, he is a pretty good "country" doctor but he can be hard to get a hold of at times. I think he is looking at retirement.

Drifter, I was wondering when the fire were going to start back up, thanks.

WW, my "favorite" pie. Looks good!

Scouts check-up went well, up to date on her shots.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well...h2l

Good Morning Everyone,
Light rain and 44*, high of 59 today.

Dave…WOW, that’s pretty scary looking, sure wasn’t expecting to see anything like those wildfires from your area this morning!!  Sending best wishes/thoughts and prayers the winds and fires both get under control soon, be safe!! 🙏.  Do you have your boat ready for a quick exit at the launch if need be??
FH4…good luck with the fishing, hope you find them hungry today!
Wally…that was one fine looking pie, excellent job!
H2…glad all went well with Scout, hope you get a return call from the Dr. today!

Had a very good review yesterday with my Oncologist. There was one very tiny area of concern however it is so small a biopsy can’t even be performed. All in all, I was released on good behavior and scheduled for my next appointment with him in 4 months.   I requested to have the chest port removed so I could have some closure from this battle and get a little more normalcy back in my life. He pushed some buttons and I’m pleased to say, that daily reminder will be gone in 10 more days!  ;D
Cawfee’s hot and strong this morning….
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!
