Clark Canyon December 2022 Updates
« on: Dec 21, 2022, 01:48 PM »
New to the site and wanted to share a report from December 18th 2022 on Clark Canyon Reservoir.  Good ice through most of the lake averaging about 12".  The South End has less ice and some sketchy spots to avoid especially with ATV's.  Most of the fishing activity is out of Horse Prairie with about 75% of the total houses.  Fishing has been good there, but fish are getting spookier due to the increased activity.  Fresh roe has been the bait of choice but some success on corn, maggots, and crawlers.  Active jigging with Swedish pimples effective early on, switching over to dead stick tungsten jigs later in the day.  Some planters around 10-12 inches but a number of nice fish in the 16-20" range.  A few houses targeting Ling but most of the activity focused on trout.  Reservoir is about 22 feet down so prepare accordingly.  Most activity was in 6-12 feet of water but some people catching fish up to 20 feet later in the day.

Nice, glad to see some big fish in there still.

Pressure ridge and open water along the east side of the lake this morning, wasn't there last weekend. A person would probably need hip wader's to get on that side of lake. I wasn't going to screw around with my muck boots, pretty sketchy. Be safe y'all!
