Rigging a Little Atom Nuggie Question
« on: Jan 17, 2011, 11:39 AM »
Can someone post a picture of a properly rigged Little Atom Nuggie?  To me, it seems like the "egg" would bury the hook on most of the tiny ice jigs I have....It it hooked slightly offset rather than right through the center?

Thanks,

Phil

I always use the smaller ones myself, but what I do is use a Fiska jig and put the hook just thru the tip of the egg part as not to bury the hook, but the way you have that hooked will work also. just try to keep the hook centered so the jig doesn't spin.

Hold in your hand and spin it so the tail goes up then put it on the hook I find more action this way.

I personally like grape and bloody red colors.  Glows are good too for those early or evening time frame.

I agree it looks much better and the action is 10 times better if you watch what way the tail hangs and then rig it pointing upwards
