Can't tell you that things are great but there are places to fish still just be careful and take a spud. This week there has been guys on quite a few lakes.

@walleye I am thinking the same thing. The ice here is so inconsistent that I don't trust any of it.

at this point you need to decide for your self whats safe ice...the ice is too inconsistent for anybody to be giving ice reports. take the time, make the drive, and go check it your self. there are guys still fishing but that does not mean the ice is safe.

What they said well put.   Headed to Shipsy with the wife for cheese, then gonna check lakes to hopefully fish Sunday.  Ice is iffy at best I'm guessing.

South Bay on James is good. U can park at the bait shop and get to the lake. Long walk though.

I know it's private but I wouldn't consider walking from the bait store which I'm assuming he means corner landing all the way to Sowles bay! That's the only bay on the south side I can think of.

Haha I was a victim of the Fox lake massacre! One of my favorite lakes, I've lived in angola all my life and definitely don't want to see something like that again. I've done my homework and know where I can and can't fish.

I wouldnt walk all that way either. I wouldnt walk from the corner landing to any part of the lake. All the ice is very iffy on all the lakes i been on this week. Now it has snowed and covered evry thing. I see lots of people swimming today if they dont spud with every step. It was very soft and bubbling yeserday
