I will be there with my son in-law and two grandsons.  Jake, the youngest is the kid that won the jiffy auger last year for the smallest fish.  I hope he wins this year because he says that I get the next auger that he wins.  Hooooooorah.

There is overflow on the lake. It should be froze over pretty good in the mornings but the afternoons could be a bit softer. Be careful out there.

How was the ice this weekend at Fremont, were you staying on top of the crust?

We fished Halfmoon on Saturday and there was a 5-6 inch crust, about 15-20 inches of clear ice and about a foot of slush between the layers.  We never broke through the top crust on our snowmobiles.  Fishing was pretty slow, finally got some consistent action about 3:00.

They are calling for snow and wind on Saturday :( at least the temperatures aren't too cold.  Might get a little messy in the afternoon.

yeah, the crust was solid for us, too, except in certain spots where apparently people had drilled a bunch of holes previously, and the flooding had saturated the crust to the point of softness.  it wasn't hard to just gun the sleds to get them through that stuff though, and that occurred on a very limited amount of the lake.  but it'll need to get a little colder to maintain that crust until this weekend.
