Jiffy Throttle Lever
« on: Jan 26, 2022, 07:59 AM »
Broke my throttle lever on my Jiffy Propane auger. Is there any place locally where I might find one of these??  I have one on order from Jiffy but it looks like its back-ordered.

Thanks!

Dan

That is really nice of you to offer! Thank you!!  Here's a pic from their web site...I just need the plastic throttle lever which just unscrews from the handle not the cable...

So I had a similar issue with my jiffy pro 4, as well as several other things, what worked best for me was to violently toss the entire auger into the scrap metal bin at my local transfer station.  That resolved all my issues

I sold mine while I could still get decent money for it before people realized Electric efficiency is finally here and  can’t be beat.

The breaking of the throttle lever was completely my fault.  Actually this auger has been great! I bought it when they first came out with the propane model and it has been trouble free. It sat for four years and started second pull and ran like a champ...no complaints whatsoever!

glad to hear it, mine was a gen 1 pro 4 as well, I had the issue you have except just from light use since I only get 3in of ice for like 6 days in winter where l live, the coupler went on me after one season, the replacement coupler didnt exactly fit my gen 1 well after the design was upgraded, I found it hard starting in really cold weather or when the propane cylinder got down to half, I found it hard to keep going on idle I would constantly have to rev it to keep it from stalling, and last my auger itself would get caked in snow and slush and just spin at times before breaking through the ice meaning i would have to scrape it off to finish cutting a hole.  I am not a 50 hole a day ice fisherman either, I cut 6 and turn it off.

I am back to a hand crank now bc honestly thats all i really need here. My neighbor has one and he feels the same way you do about his so its clearly a me problem

Wayne Hall is a good guy.  He's saved my bacon a few time with vintage snowmobile parts.  Nice to do business with locally owned people as well. I use to get bait there when hitting Turkey Pond.
"Hope" is not a good fishing strategy!
