From my research I have found that this is a myth.

I have read that they replace broken or lost teeth, and quite fast.

I spoke with an SRD guy once, and he told me that they don't shed them, but have been seen to loose a bunch at once, and that it can have an effect on their eating habits.

I don't know..I am no sciamabiologist...LOL.

Cheers!!

A pike with no teeth would be awsome. You could noodle them just like a catfish ;)

No kiddin. I made the mistake once of sticking my hand down the hole when the fish (walleye) was still thrashing around cut my hand up pretty bad. Is it Illegal to chum fish with human blood?

It's an ole tale when you hear the Pike aren't biting cause they lost their teeth.
The teeth on Pike are very similiar to those of a Shark. There are rows of Teeth lined up behind each other. They will lose some but not all as the tale goes. Once the front one is off, a new grows in to replace. There is always sharp teeth to be found.
Next time, you catch one, just run your finger along in their mouth. Kidding!!! ;D ;D

Do those things like a pair of pliers u see them on scales and such work good? they dont pierce the fish but can grab around the jaw. and are they legal?
Gonna get me a 16" Perch this year.

Is it possible your fishing in a lake with lings?  Because, I've noticed ling do speed up there feeding near the end of ice off.
