Reeds lake in G.R.
« on: Feb 07, 2008, 01:17 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone has been out on Reeds lake this week, and if they are catching fish, and what is the ice condition like?

Bump.
I know there was the topic about naming lake names.  I was just curiuos how the ice was on Reeds after the big snow, so I don't waste a trip down there. I don't need any report on the fishing. Although appreciated

Stopped by Al and Bob's and they had a flyer up for an ice fishing contest for the 9th $10.00 entry for pike bluegill and perch, so I would have to guess that the ice is good on reeds.

Fished reeds today, east side had 8-10. Fishing was vary slow.
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

Fished far east side there was a foot of ice. The fishing is still slow.

The word from Jhonny's sports on bridge st is that reeds lake is "nothin' but slow"

I usually do really well with pike there, but aparently not this year..... oh well, goin back up to croton in the morning

The deepest spot in the lake, I think is 50' but if you go 100 yards straight off the bot launch you are in like 30' of water, so yes it is a deep lake.

Can you get on Fisk lake by walking the channel from Reeds? I herd Fisk is like deep and has some good fishing "if" you can get on it.
