If you have boots with Thinsulate liners in them and the socks fit over the liners I find that is the best.. They are very uncomfortable right against your bare feet...

I have a pair and they seem to work ok. I turn them on when needed for a while and then turn them off to save the batteries. These take D cells and the batteries don't last long if you leave them turned on and as someone said, they feel kinda weird under your feet.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.
