I experimented a little last year, used a lipless crank (think Rattletrap). Had enough success to build a dedicated jig rod and assemble a box of lures. Like most anything else, the sound and flash draws 'em in and a pause or jiggle makes 'em commit. Other times they just smash it .........
I had the best luck with a chartreuse one that had a deeper rattle, as opposed to ones with smaller BBs and a higher pitch.
I knocked off some spoons with a silicone skirt that I saw on here for my own use. I added a brass and glass "ticker" like some guys use for bass fishing. Unfortunately, I misplaced the box and haven't been able to try 'em......
I think they have possibilities.
