Just trolling to see if anyone from SD is keeping an eye on the forums like me. Deer season is almost here in west river but the ice bug has begun to bite.

I have been getting ready for the ice also. I have a lot of hunting to do before it gets here. But have been buying new poles and gear to be ready when it gets here.

We had some ice and snow last night so I started my ice auger today, fired on the first pull!
I have been goat and pheasant hunting this fall and deer season opens the 6th.
Then ice-fishing!

I can't wait for first ice.  I've been fishing the Blackhills for about 3 years now but this is the first year I think I'll be able get some hard water time.  I'm looking forward to it.

I'm ready for deer season here - wishing i coulda gotten some waterfowling in so far but that hasnt happened.  Greatly looking forward to getting on the ice - getting really really antsy and worried that good ice won't come till late and will exit early...hopefully I am wrong.
