Amazing, perseverance pays off as usual...
I was hoping to possibly get out for a last shot at some ice bass up North last week, but didn't have enough time for the 4+ hour trip. I did some wading in the river instead, and ended up landing a whopping 20 of 22 pike in about 5 hours, most I've ever landed in a day on foot. Surprisingly aggressive bite in 36-38 degree water, mostly twitching jerkbaits.
Season closed last night for most game fish this morning, starts re-opening in May.
