Bring your underwater camera if you have one.  And your 4 wheel drive if you got out Morman.

Watch Mormon Hill road. Guess this mornings snow fall hid the ruts and somebody slid about 5' down into the ditch. It got pretty rutted last week and best bet is a slow drive down it.

Wind was a BLAST this morn'g and bite was tough.  Seems like the water was alot murkier today, had a hard time with the camera in real shallow water. There are some underwater springs in the area and don't know if that could have caused it but it was not as clear as last week.  Did manage some for dinner and the freezer.

Nice Mess!!!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Nice Moose!  And like you said before, there are crappie in there.

I noticed the water is murky, almost like an algae explosion.

Water has been murky in front for over a week, might be from dying vegetation.
Nice catch, better than I have done in the last couple of times out.
Might have to try Mormon this coming week.

10" of new snow at the slough.  Mormon road is plowed and it is tough walking on the lake to say the least !  There were only two of us out by Mormon this morning.

I could not get out to my favorite spot so I fished about 100yds off the ramp in the weeds.  Managed to get 15 gills. Tossed back a small pike and bass as well.  All of the gills were 8 to 9 inchers. Lot of lookers. Black again was my best bet, did grab a few on a black spider as well.

LOL Charlie !!  Can't remember??? Did I put a hook on that one !  Darn snow is going to make it rough going out there for awhile but saw some nice gills with the camera yesterday and that gives one the incentive!

Mormon road is the access to the north east end of the lake. The main road that comes in by the headquarters is state line road. Not sure of the county road number.

At Mormon Hill where you park there is a small ramp going into the lake. That is where I meant.  There were alot of guys out in the middle of the bay this afternoon, don't know how they did though.  Only got a dozen this afternoon, had alot of Bass and Pike showing on the camera and think they were pushing the gills hard today.
