I made a trip up to northern NH today hoping to find solid ice.
When I arrived, I found roughly 5 inches of ice in shallows, and out a little deeper, it quickly shrank closer to 3”. I tend to be overly cautious so I stuck to the shallows.
I had quite a few flags on my tipups, but couldn’t manage to get a fish through the hole.
Finally, my Jaw Jacker went off, and I landed this rainbow. Snapped a quick pic, and sent him back down the hole.
Overall, a good start to the season, and I’m thrilled to be back on the ice.
