ice fishing pal caught a perch to be proud of fishing for whitefish no less half way down on a wireworm non-baited no less

and next to a really nice whitefish

i have NO clue man, that one was 13 inches. Ya bigbore got called into work, so i kinda got stranded

We will have to hit gull soon, look for those perch SNAP caught, i think i know where he was fishing, i recogize the house in the background.

was that at gull? It looks alot darker then the perch I have been pulling out of there this year. Either way nice fish, and it's sure good to see the numbers of perch this year.

How are those Whitefish to eat??? What's it comparable to??? or do you just use them for chum or something? Just curious... LOL

hey guys, whitefish is really good. I usually fillet and fry mine in fish crisp, Bigbore usually boils them then flakes off the meat, and mixes them with mashed potatoes or something and makes fish patties. They can also be roasted in the oven stuffed and people say they are great smoked, tho iv never tried. But IMO, frying them is right up there with perch or walleye.

Smoked Whitefish is by far the absolute best smoked fish you will ever eat.

White fish is on of the best smoked fish I have ever tasted. Up in the U. P. of Michigan you can by them right by the side of the road for 2 3 bucks for a 2 lb fish or so.
