Re: Marbury's Ice Pics - p4 - 1/7 big pickerel
« Reply #60 on: Jan 22, 2006, 11:23 AM »
I got out yesterday with my dad. We met Hookset and his friends. Hookset has a cool shack

I started with these 2 pike out of the same hole within 3 minutes.

Then I got 2 flags at the same time. I got a 23 inch pickerel and then went over to the next hole and got this big one.

I got some nice bass in the morning too

The bluegills were biting good in our shack. We got about 70 and threw most of them back. We kept a few for dinner.

I got some more nice pike and then the weather started changing

At 1:30 things started looking pretty weird    Weird clouds and a rainbow.

Then the cold front came through and the wind was blowing about 50 miles an hour. It blew all my tip-ups out of the water and it was hard to stand up. We got out of there as fast as we could.

Thank you Hookset for letting me sit in your shack.

Awesome pictures, Marbury.  It looks like you slammed 'em for sure.  It's cool that you caught five different species of fish; that's great.  Good work!  ;D

Re: Marbury's Ice Pics - p5 - moving is a good thing

Thank you everybody for your posts. Between homework , basketball and being sick I haven't been on IS much.

We got out to our spot at first light yesterday and had our tip-ups ready for the morning bite. After an hour we didn't have a flag so my dad said he had a bad feeling and we should move to a deeper spot which meant we had to pull all ten tip-ups in  and walk a ways to the new spot.  We moved and redrilled and before we had our third tip-up in I got this nice one.

Then I got three more small pike in a row like this one and a nice bass

After noon the clouds moved in and I got the biggest one of the day so moving was a good thing

very nice  ;D picking up and moving sometimes can mean more work for nothing or move and catch fish all day.  ;) Sounds like after walking  :P to a new spot the day was brite again.  ;D Very nice fish and glad you guys were out on the ice.
Great job on fighting and putting some fish on the ice, looked like fun.
Keep'em coming as long as the ice stays.  ;D

We got out for a while Sunday and had a good day but we didn't get any
tourney monsters. Got a bunch of crappie and bluegills. I also got
these two pike that were 30 and 31 inches.  and some bass too.
