Greetings Ice Nuts!
If ever there was a perfect day to ice fish it was yesterday; about 4+" of clear ice, light snow cover, almost zero wind, sunny, and temps hovering just above freezing. Primo conditions. We hit a small state park lake in central Illinois and caught/released about 30 rainbows, some bass, green sunfish, bluegills, crappie, and some nice channel cats. Unfortunately, this ice season is about to come to an abrupt close in my latitude starting Monday evening with lots of rain predicted. Two last trips planned; one on a private lake in Edwardsville on Saturday and to Ramsey State Park on Sunday. Here's a few pics from yesterday!
