With 5 tipups out properly baited and located, you will have no time for handlines, in fact you may have no handlines if you are not attending them while running between tip ups or tip downs.

As a little boy, I used to love watching the "perch jerkers" when I would go smelt fishing with my grandfather north of Port Henry. They would have their 15 "suicide" jacks set in three rows of 5 literally in a 10' x 15' spot, and when a school of perch came through, it was nothing but fast action and perch flying. Awesome to watch!
