I wish you luck, I'm heading to raquette as we speak and from what Ive heard its still open :( On the bright side I tied some new streamers to troll around and its supposed to be about 50 tomorrow. Just breakin chops here, but you could end up in friggin canada looking for fishable ice.

Good luck, Zack.  56 in Plattsburgh.  Pretty bad ice all around---where there is ice.

well just got back from my trip nothing good to say.  found some ice but it was so warm windy and rainy that the shore was broke up.  friend of mine managed to make it out a about 30 feet and there was about 3 inches  hoping some cold weather comes in and freezes the shore back up ;D

any ice around the tupper, saranac lake area is definately not to be trusted.. the 3.5-4" that was on raquette pond 4-5 days ago is gone completely, wide open lake. 50's and rain today same for tomorrow.... :(
if any one finds ice I hope they watched the video first...

STAY SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 36 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in northern New York

There was 5-6" out there. In the morning it was great ice but as the day went on it started to get scary. We would get 7 guys together to shoot the sh*t and then the ice would crack right under us. Talk about scatter. ;D Then with all the rain and warm weather we were having you could see the ice changing colors. Theres ice out there you just have to search for it and be a little risky. But if your going to be risky make sure you have safety  gear. Everyone of us had our safety spikes, a few of us had life jackets and some rope. Stay safe and tight lines.

You can not take too many perch, unless you can not clean them, give them to your friends and neighbors to clean and cook. The more perch you take, the faster and bigger the rest  will grow. The walleyes and bass will survive from fry to fingerlings.
