boy with this rain and temps I'm wondering if any ice made it thru? We were on 5 of black sunday on juno but i doubt it made it. If so probably gonna have to walk the plank to get to it. Anyone know if there smoke good ice around? Thanks for your helps.

I was standing on an Allegan Co. lake yesterday afternoon and plan to fish it this weekend.

2-3" of ice before with lots of snow on top. You'll be surprised what has survived the warm up.

Saw Goguac and Beadle from the road in Battle Creek less than an hour ago. Seems there's enough water on top of what little ice remains that they look 80% open due to it bowing. Don't think we need the 2"- 4" of snow they're talking about coming with the temp drop. Honeycombed/double ice mess is likely

i fished on about 7 inches of ice tonight! it was a little north but i still consider it SW Mich!

newago area. so it was a little treck from allegan county but there was some safe ice!!

it was more than 7 inches.... anywhere that didnt get the lake snows during that cold snap should be super thick clear ice... ik the lake me and gvsugeorged fished had 10-12 before rain and after was 8-10 so the rain didnt phase it

Ice with water on top is not honeycombed, when the water is gone it went thru the ice hence , honeycomb.

I went out and checked some lakes today in the Kalamazoo area, things that were open water yesterday are starting to lock up. One of the lakes I checked had a good solid 2 inches that took a heck of a beating to get through on the new ice but where it met the old ice it was a 1 wack and through. Be careful out there and make sure to take your spud! There was a minimal amount of slush on the lakes I checked but I did not walk out very far due to the weakness of the ice.
