If you are in the QC and watched the news today, what they said is NOT TRUE. They just reported that the new changes lets us use 3 lines now in 2013 on our fishing license. That is only partially true.
You can only fish 3 lines if you buy the 3rd line permit for an additional $12. If you buy the 3rd line permit your permit becomes active today and you can now fish 3 lines. Without the permit you are only limited to two rods!
Your 2012 license expires Jan 10, but you can renew it now to take advantage of the 3rd line. With your 2012 license you CAN NOT fish 3 lines. But, you can buy the 3rd line permit separate right now for $12 and use it in conjunction with your 2012 license until jan 10 2013, then you can just renew the fishing license as your 3rd rod permit will be good until jan 10 2014.
