Tip Ups & Bucket Rod Holders
« on: Dec 02, 2012, 10:43 AM »
I want to start doing a little tip up fishing, what is a good choice for a couple of entry level tip ups?  I don't want to break the bank right away, but I would like to get something decent.  I do some hole hopping with my Father In Law, but I also like to set a deadstick with a bobber but I need to get the rod off of the ice so I want to use a bucket with a rod holder, any suggestions on this too?  Thanks-Arlo

These should work for you. Not expensive and they fit in a five gallon bucket. I have some of the insulated ones. They are also available in local stores. http://frabill.com/tipup-and-accessories/insulated-tip-ups.html
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I plan on getting some of these.

Either straight out the side or at an angle. If you flip it over the rod goes straight out the side.

A friend of mine just took a piece of PVC pipe and glued and clamped it to his bucket in the position he liked best.
