Has anybody ever been windburned on the ice before? I've had it happen, is there any way to prevent it? If so, how?

if anybody from michigan will help me out with the lakes and stuff up here I'd really appreciate it since I'm new to the area.

try wearing a pull over face mask. or else face WITH the direction of the wind, not into it.

It's not ONLY wind. Sun reflects up at you
Use sunscreen and lotion

Be careful of some of the lotions, they have alcohol in them and will cool the skin. It is tuff to beat petroleum jelly for stopping wind burn.

I used to get windburn on my cheeks every winter so bad they would crack. A girlfriend gave me a sample bottle of Oil of Olay. What a difference!! Not only helped keep down the wind damage, but gave me kissable cheeks year round.

Don't forget sunscreen/lip balm for your lips. Had to go through that for a few days forgetting to put that stuff on my lips.
