Sorry it's taken me so long to return to your questions (had some computer troubles >:( )

Our Shanty is 8' x 8' with a 7'-6" ceiling (from the floor of the trailer), from the ice it stands around 9'-8" or so. It has a home made wood stove that is 8" wide, 16" deep and 16" tall. It also has 22" wide benches (for sleeping on those slow days :o ) And to finish it off, plenty of shelving, and a table that can popped up into position or laid down flat against a shelving unit.

Thanks for the update, Fish-on-VT
My brother and I are considering building an ice-shack this summer . Using a lot of info from this site (thanks guys !) and looking at a few huts on the ice road just outside of town (Dryden Ontario) , we have come up with a tentative plan as follows ;
 size: 6 ft wide by 9 ft long with 6 foot walls(sloping to 5 1/2 ft on opposite side).
Floor: 9 foot 2 x 4's on 16 inch centers with the 2nd joist in from each side being a 12 foot 2x10 (to serve as runners)with  bridging to keep runners from twisting .Covered with OSB sheeting .
Walls :2 x 2 framing, on 16 " centers,  with styrofoam insulation...not sure what it will be covered with inside and out ....something light and strong .
Roof: shed-type with 7 foot 2 x 4's (16" centers) running from a 6 foot to the 5 1/2 foot wall .Insulated , not sure what will cover with .
Door will be in the middle of one of the long sides , for easier egress for the  two (usually) fishermen .
Wood-burning stove will be directly opposite door .
Only two jigging holes....in diagonally opposite corners .(far enuff from the walls to be able to open up the holes with a Jiffy ice auger)
Windows will be low enuff to see out of sitting down.
Did I miss anything ?

Have been using my home-made folding shanty for about a week or so ....caught a lot of small walleye(released)but a few slightly bigger ones ...enuff for a couple meals .Caught  three  24 inch "snot-rockets"...ate them too .
Made a "slammer" also . will try it out tomorrow .

For covering the walls, inside and out, I was thinking of using a Fourdrinier Wire(a wide endless belt of woven nylon mesh )which drains water from the stock on a paper machine . Although not wind proof it can be painted to make it so . Light , strong ...but would need diagonal braces.
Anyone use this material for a shack?
