Marcum LX-7 issue

Bought a brand new marcum LX-7 and noticed it wasnt reading properly, bouncing from 0-15ft. Put the LX-6 down marked 4 FOW. Assumed it was a bad ducer, swapped ducers and same issue, returned unit and got a replacement yesterday. Tested this morning, same issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

Two different (?) units having the same problem sounds like you may have it set up wrong.  Check your LX-6 settings and make sure they are the same.  Make sure the firmware is the same (4.07 is the latest).  Could be it is on dynamic depth which can act squirrelly at times.

Switch to wide cone and reduce sensitivity. Mine is always is in the 3 to 6 range.6 is for 140fow+

use manual depth or manual dynamic.
open water mode.
target 0.
sensitivity 3.
auto zoom, if you want to watch bottom.

just used mine first time, love it! couldn't be happier!
it doesn't read 2 feet and up and i think thats how they get rid of the bounce back interference my bird ice-55 has. its like a ton of clutter just under the ice to about 3 fow. there is no clutter with the lx-7.

Contacted marcum and they are aware of the issues with anything under 6fow.

They said you need to be in open water mode. Tested it today on erie and worked like a charm

I see people keep having issues with them but I love mine so far.  Been out 8 times so far and works like a champ.  Hopefully it stays that way.
