Habits and range
The brook trout is native to small streams, creeks, lakes, and spring ponds.  Brookies are a type of char but i know what most people think of when someone says they caught a char is an arctic char....same family but different fish.

Thanks for the comments guys.I dont know about the brookie being in the char family but these are definitely brookies.Caught right here in Maine.Both were stocked the best i can tell using the inland game stock report around December some time.All i can say is mmmm mmmm good eating
