Have a feeling this weeks warm up is going to hurt alot of the ice we have...... to early in the year to start honeycombing the ice we have.  :(

All lakes around here are in good shape...some shorelines may be rough but other than that they're solid. There's really no warm up coming that I can see?? Mid 40's today but rest of week in mid 30's....no worries here. You'll be fine!

I agree, the condition of the ice where I have been fishing has seen too much rain, too many temp swings, is full of bubbles, and has been getting progressively worse. We need a good week of below freezing temps or things are going to go bad fast, there are a bunch of lakes in NEPA that already have lost the shoreline ice. Come on mother nature, help us out here !!!

Did a little drive by this morning and we seem to be holding up pretty well still, but we need some good cold air to lock up the water on top and soft spots.  Plus this extra runoff could make fishing a little tough on a few lakes.  I never do real well in the winter if the water muddies up, especially on Hamilton.

Watch out for holes that have opened up and refroze these next few days.  Snow showers in tomorrows forecast.  Even a dusting will hide thin ice on those holes.  Temps around here look good to refreeze tonight and tomorrow night.  The forecasts are showing cold weather to finish out the week too.  We'll see.

I don't think I'll be able to make it out this week to check on conditions, but I'll get some reports from customers these next few days.  I think we were lucky this year to get a good base layer of 4-5+" black ice on most the lakes, unlike the last few years.

Good luck and be safe out there,

Don
