There's a chill in the air....
« on: Sep 06, 2013, 07:44 AM »
Was 39 deg. when I left the house this morning, thats only 7 deg. till water stats to freeze. I know that the water temp is warmer and that its still a ways away but it doesn't hurt to wish for it, lol.  :icefish:

Mother nature starting to tease us Wiley! When I drove by the neighbors house, I coulda sworn I saw a bit of frost on the neighbors roof, either that or a mirage..

The one good thing about these cold temps at night is they cool the water and prime it for making ice when the time comes.  The leaves are starting to turn at my house, another good sign.

clhuff, back in 97 when I got out of the Marine Corps it was just in time for archery season, I spent every day for two weeks in the woods. I had some close encounters, but never did arrow a deer, however that season is probably what I would call my best archery season ever.
Hope you enjoy your first season back.

10-4 on the archery, it's a good time to sit in a tree thinking about ice-fishing waiting for the  "BULL OF THE WOODS" to appear.

It was 33 with frost yesterday morning and they're calling for the same today.  That sure gets the thoughts of being on the ice going and says it's coming.

First Erie steelhead trip of the season this weekend, leave tonight. That always signifies that the hardwater season is right around the corner.
