beaver damn trout
« on: Jan 15, 2007, 02:56 PM »
Hey guys, just wonderin if anyone has ever fished for brookies in beaver ponds before. There is a couple decent sized ones near where i live that are full in the summer, they are located on fairly small brooks but are the ponds are probably up to 3 -6 feet deep, do you think they would still hold trout? any suggestions on bait?
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

Ive seen brookies in some tiny, shallow little creeks that there didn't look like  enough water for anything to be in it. so it wouldn't suprise me a bit to find them in a small beaver pond.i would probably just try a hook and worm with a small bobber.good luck. :)

fish from the river overwinter in beaver dams lots of the time, so it could be a real slay day in there...
for this specific reason, they dont allow icefishing in beaver dams in alberta.
