While visiting my folks in Sturbridge yesterday I was able to head out and do a little bit of light tackle trout fishing for the first time this year. I usually set up on a good drop that goes from 10-20ft, but yesterday I tried fishing in water a bit deeper. Managed one small largemouth bass and one nice fat 16" rainbow, both caught on the jig rod in 30+ FOW, right off the bottom using a silver kastmaster tipped with a small shiner. It was generally slow out there but I only fished a few hours so all in all a fine day.
