Trapping winter creek shiners?
« on: Jan 14, 2014, 04:11 PM »
I went out today to try and trap some creek shiners at the same spot where I do very well late in the fall prior to the creek icing up. The hole is about 4-5ft. deep. I drilled a couple of holes and dropped the camera down and didn't see a single minnow. Have they moved to deeper holes or do they burrow in the dead leaves on the bottom? No problen finding creek chubs, but was wanting the creek shiners. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a different place. I always catch them when jigging for perch/walleye.
