Haven't tried to ice fish it in many years, but I know that it doesn't ice over very often. At least not the whole thing. That's partially why I don't go there anymore (unsafe ice).

I fished the SF of the Boise below Anderson Ranch this weekend, and when driving across the dam there was open water as far as I could see. It was 40+ degrees and sunny all day. I don't know about the upper end, but I don't see the lower end freezing this year unless there is a huge temperature swing.
