Good ole hot dogs and hamburgers are the way to go. All I know is that eating something hot on ice is like eating a great dinner. Everything tastes so much better when your on the ice and your hungry. I love my lil old grill  :)

OK, you said you wanted a recipe. I want to tell you, this is a family secret, so don't tell anybody out of this web site. Ingredients are 1 can of Dinty Moore Stew, 1 pack saltine crackers. Directions; open can of stew, put into pan. Cook until desired temp. Serve on plate or bowl (must be paper if eating on ice). Eat with crackers and enjoy, I know we always do!!  ;)

This saturday on Winni we had it all - pork sausage, venison steaks, marinated beef steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, eggs, bacon, venison stew
Definitely ate better on the ice than I typically would at home.

Since I don't take a cooker but like hot food out there, I have two wide mouth Stanley SS thermoses. One gets the old stand by of tongue burning Dinty More and the other gets Progresso Clam chowder. I also always have the old faithful PBJs and another thermos of coffee and half a dozen Labatts Blues.
I love the thermos food the best because it seems every time I pour a cup it is too hot to down and I end up with a flag, then it is too cold when I get done.
When we do take the grill we always have venison burgers or steaks and the fixings to grill a fish or two.
Someone else said it, I eat better on the ice then I would if home.
If I agreed with you we would both be wrong!

Hot Dogs all the way baby!!! And they taste best after you throw it in the snow so you can catch your rod before that big fish pulls it in ;D
