Went with a friend for the first time to the channels. We caught 15 gills. 4 or 5 of them were nice size. Channel had at least 8 inches of ice. Lots of guys fishing and catching mostly small gils. Swung by Sister Lakes on way home and they still aren't ready to fish. Maybe the warmup this weekend will melt some of the snow and let the freezing start. Found my jon-e warmer works real well. Hardly wore gloves.
