Can any of you Colorado Ice fisherman shed any light on catching black crappie in Avery Lake Reservoir outside of Meeker Colorado?

My two favorite college football teams are Ohio State and whoever's playing Michigan!!!

Don't reel against the drag!!!

Ex Minnesnowta lad! You can take the lad out of Minnesnowta, but you can't take Minnesnowta out of the lad!!

Used to fish there quite a bit but it's been a few years. Caught a ton of good sized sunfish but never any crappie.

I’ve fished it in the summer a bunch. Never caught any crappie but I do know they were illegally introduced there. Some really nice trout in there. The tail water gets a lot of action. I’ve always wondered about winter access. From Denver it’s more than a day trip so I’ve never made it over to ice it. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Try by the dam for crappie. From what I’ve heard the crappie tend to be small.
