Hit Island Lake on Grand Mesa a week ago. 6-8” and we fished the north side in 42’ and caught a bunch of brookies, over 40, from 8” to 13”, several splake to 15”, and a dozen Bobo s to 14” on white and green small jigs with waxies. About 4” of snow on the with a little slush but not bad.
Was at Blue Mesa this morning for 4 hours from the Lake City Bridge and to the west a hundred yards.Three of us Caught 20 browns n bows from 12-18” mostly 15-20’ and a foot off bottom. Glow green n white best color, 2” tubes, tear drops and tungstens with a single tail, essentially a heavy Ratso. minus 10 to to start, 20 above when we left at 11, the bite really crashed about 10. 9” ice at the bridge tapering down to 6” a hundred yards west.
But it is iced to Dry Creek, a couple icing there as we drove home.
Skim ice on both Crawford and Miramonte, just need cold to lock them up by New Years.
