Been slow that past two weeks

How has the spearing been for you folks?  I have only seen one in the last two weekends.
Also the water has turned murky for some reason and I have a muskrat trying build his home in my house.
Maybe the rat is scaring the fish?  It needs to be eliminated I guess.

We need some ice first. Been twice with the portable  on 4-5 inches saw a total of 12 pike in two days out.

It's been slow for me too. Speared two pike in 5 trips out and and only 5 on tip-ups. The ones that come in the hole are fast moving and I can't get the spear aimed before they're out of the hole.

Same here i dropped the spear 2 time and missed they came in like a rocket. How deep were you.

well at  Lake St. Helen's in lake one there is a deep hole all of 10' that spot is busy, so I fish all by myself on a weed bed in 3-4' with 6' all the way around me with a sandy bottom, for the past few years I have it in the GPS. Its when I go for numbers not size like the past few trips there in no size limit. My buddy did spear his first pike it was about 24" as it shot in and ate the decoy shinier up to it's tail. It would have got away if the cord on the shiner was any longer, that was the weekend before last.

Got rid of my muskrat problem so I am heading out this morning to see if
that makes a difference. The one good thing it had eaten the ice out around my hole about 6 inches so I can really see
out along the edges.
