we made the long trip out to the brook trout lake on the weekend with hopes of brookies then lakers , if we ingnored our home responabilities !
We set up on a point with a weed flat on one side and a deep hole on the other.
In Ontario where live bate in these lake's are legal, and using 4 pound line . It was hard to convine them to take the whole bait. We managed 5 between 13" & 18" plus lost 3 at the hole.
I'm used to to drilling up to 30 sometime's plus holes looking for fish ,but that day 4 was all that was needed .
We tried live maggots , crickets, but when it get right down to it a minnow swimming around is hard to beat.
My buddy cleaned the fish and didn't cheack to see what they had been eating so for next week it's back to square 1
As for the lakers they will be there all next week when we take the kids for 5 days over spring break .
