Advice
« on: Dec 30, 2013, 09:19 PM »
Hey yall I'm from north east iowa. I'm looking into taking a trip to wisconsin to catch some walleyes and northerns. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a lake in southern wisconsin that I could possibly hit for some of these. Or maybe jave an open spot to show me a few tricks to catch them. I have never caught them through the ice before. Any help would be appreciated.

I go for panfish only, so my advice should be taken with a grain of salt. The larger lakes in southern WI are more likely to have northerns of size. Not sure of any good or great walleye lakes - might have to go north. Tip ups are the way to go. Use treble hooks with minnows. This advice is based on what I picked up from the forums here in the shanty. Any resemblance to real or imaginary lakes, tip ups or minnows is purely coincidental. Good luck on your trip. This year we have plenty of cold weather and good ice.
