Only two categories were won at the 1st Get Together.
I had prizes left over that were generously donated by Fish307.
I thought why not have a 2nd Get Together !

Get Together Date :   Sunday Feb. 21, 2010   

Time  :  7:00 AM thru 3:00 PM
Sign In : 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM ( You must contact Shawn to sign in to enter an entry)
            You must be a registered member        Children don’t have to be registered members.

Location :  Ilif Lake ....
Directions : Interstate 80 to Exit 25.
                         Follow Route 206 North for 7 miles to Limecrest Rd. (Exxon Station / Dunkin Donuts) (County Route 669).
                         Right on Limecrest Road.
                         Follow Limecrest Road for 1.2 miles and park in the Hillside Park parking lot.
                 
Parking Parking will be at Hillside Park parking lot.

The check in will be off Sheridan's Restaurant parking lot on the ice. Shawn will have a Black frabill shanty & a big wood box on skies with milk crates on it. I will be in a blue FishTrap. We should be there around 6:30
                 

Eligible :  Team IceShanty Members .......... children don't have to be members

Prizes :  1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes as well as give aways.
               

               



If you have an FRS radio bring it. To make things easier Shawn will bring an FRS radio and have it set on Channel 8. This way you can call us to ask and we can give an up to date category size.

Rules


1  You must be a Team IceShanty member.

2  You must have a valid NJ fishing license and follow all regulations.

3   The entry is by length ... not weight or girth. We will follow the online tourney rule of as the fish lays ...
       not squeezing the tail.       

4   You must contact us / come to us to verify and measure your entry during the posted hours.
       

5    No garbage is to be left out on the ice or in the parking lots ... if you bring it .. you dispose of it.


6    This will be a walk on get together ... no four wheelers or snowmobiles. 


7    You must park in the Hillside Park parking lot.


8     You must be present for the handing out of prizes .. if not they will forfeited.

This is meant to be a get together to have fun and any prizes are just a bonus. 

   

Ice safety: The determination of the safe condition of lake ice is the user’s sole responsibility. Any injuries, etc. are also the user's sole responsibility. By signing up and coming you agree to this.

HOT DIGGITY DAWG,,,,didn't catch one silly fish and still had a GREAT DAY ON THE ICE!!!
I got pictures too, but I gotta resize them all.
Was awsome to meet folks that without this site, I never would have,,,,,*LOL*,,,,ya city slickers!!

It was great we could have a second one this year .. sort of makes up for the years we couldn't have any.  

I thought today turned out well. The weather was nice, the company was great, the fish co-operated and the food was good !  

It was great seeing previously met members and meeting new members. I hope everyone had a nice time !

Some of you guys came a ways to fish our Sussex county hard water, and I sure thank you for it.
I'm REAL bad at remembering names.....sorry bout that.
So could I have the name or handle of the fella that won the tip up from Skylands Sport Shop??
I'll forward the picture and the fellas name to them along with a great big thank you from us all.

BTW, I have a few pics of our gang that Ice Princess took, if you want to post them.
I think one is pretty cool due to the fact of 3 generations out there at once.
Kinda a tear jerker for me because we could have sleded my dad out there before he passed and had a 4 generation pic.

I had a GREAT day!  Caught a few fish, had a good lunch on the ice and met many new friends that were very helpful in making a new member feel welcome.

And what a great group of folks!  I fin ally caught my first fish through the ice.  I grabbed a hot dog and then got anxious to get back out there because I didn't want to leave skunked.  As soon as I got back out there I caught a 19" pickerel on my jigging rod.   What a blast pulling that fish through the hole!  Thanks to Lonewolf and the gang for pulling it together!  Thanks also to Riv and the guys for drilling a couple of holes for me so I didn't have to work the hand auger too much.  And thanks to everyone that shared their knowledge and advice freely to this newbie.  I truly believe that outdoorsmen are the most friendly and sharing people around.  People who shoot, hunt and fish are the best there is.
It was great meeting you all.

WELL ''WHEN '' IS THE NEXT ONE?

I think we were very fortunate to have had such a great ice season and to have been able to do 2 get togethers.  
We're supposed to have some lousy weather this week and it won't be good for the ice.  
We'll keep an eye on things and if we are able to do something it would be on short notice and bragging rights only.  

I spoke with the owner of Skylands this morning. He recieved my e-mail and checked out this thread. He seemed very friendly and said to count him in for any future events.
