Different outside temps, wind effect? Does it seem to glow with the same intensity as it did last year?

I have been using it in the same conditions, it seems to be in good working order just not throwing the heat that it did last year, I know I put a good 100 hours on it last year could it be worn out?

I am not sure on those heaters but some have a small pcs. of screen make sure there is no dirt or any thing else on the inlet. Could be you are not geting good gas flow.
