If we don't let this thread die, we're going to have to rename it 'Antiques Roadshow'. In the early 70's I bought a Commodore 64-for 2 reasons  1. a local programmer had written a bookkeeping progam for it.
             2. My kids needed a games computer.
It was a very simple bookeeping prog. but, was all I needed for my business in those days so I justified the purchase for that. My kids got many games for it, one of which fishnut displayed above and I am trying to remember all the tunes that it played as you moved from level to level. One of them was 'Crazy little thing called love' the sound was just terrible but in those days it was just wonderful. thanks for the memories Fishnut    "LODE RUNNER"  :) ;D

A fella used to stop by a place I was previously employed to collect the chads (oowww remember that work) to use for polishing his hand loading brass.  I school we had an IBM terminal connected by an honest to God  phone modem to the colleges DEC 10.  We saved our programs on punch tape.  You always knew the geeks in school.  They looked like they went class to class carrying a roll of 50/50 raffle tickets. LOL

Some of the old programs in our lab were written in fortran and also in BASIC....they were running on a 286 or 386 until a couple of years ago when another guy and myself interfaced the old instruments using labview using a brand new computer running XP.   Anyways we still have lots of relics laying around the lab including a few 5 1/4" floppy drives and punchcards.  What I'm holding in my hand below are "virgin" punchcards...
