Whites Lakers ATV rescue

Well, I spent my weekend in NH and ME and although fishing was pretty slow, I still managed a few good white perch and lake trout on Saturday and then some whites and crappie on Sunday. The weather was absolutely beautiful, maybe too beautiful!

I was running around a bunch but I am glad that I made a pit stop to meet one of the IceShanty members on here! It was a pleasure to meet you! Just let me know if you approve of the kielbasa and sausage. Thank you again for welcoming me to your home!

While fishing for crappie and whites, someone drove their ATV directly into a open spot in a channel. This open area was at least 10 feet wide, all the way across so I am not sure what they were thinking. I am sure they are bruised up but I was very happy that they were ok. A few of his buddies were already on the ice so they were there to assist him. Long story short, he was very lucky that the area was only about 4 feet deep so they were able to hop in the broken ice bergs and tie the atv up, then drag it to shore with the help of a snow machine. Check out the image. The broken ice was not from the ice cracking due to the weight of the atv. The broken ice is from the front of the atv smashing the opposite ice shelf head on.

Nice work Mike!!
Glad you enjoyed yourself up in our neck of the woods.
Hopefully you get a chance to make it up again this season. I can't imagine the ice is too good down your way.

Thank you! I have two more trips planned. End of February and mid March. ZERO ice down my way..... pretty much all winter.
