Just because there were guys out there Doesnt mean its safe. After seeing how fast we were losing ice today on the channels I would wait till after the first of the week. It was cracking with every step on the way off!!

By Monday night it will be "Fat Boy" ice on the slip.  Fish it Bill.  Lots of good Crappie, Bluegill, Redears, and Pike  to be had.  Fish it. ;)

Its not a channel, its a bay that has some deeper water in it, no standing up in there.

Call it what you want but there use to be a marina there called "Macy's Slip" and that's where the bay received its name. More of the old timers call it Conklin Bay but the majority know it as the the slip.

We are happy for ya!!!  If in 23 years you have not been able to make the connection that conklin bay and the slip are the same thing, or that it is definitely not a channel, you might need to get out more next summer.   ::)

That's the funny thing about lakes they have nicknames and given names that are the same. i run into this all the time up on Lake James. I have talked to people on here about areas up there and they will spring a nickname and throw me a curve. I then ask which basin are we talking about and then I have a better understanding. I just got some info on Snow and it was the same deal with the name thing. So now I have this lake map book that is all covered in notes. I just guess it is what it is. :-\
Fish on!
