Just wondering if Cornelia has fishable ice? 7yr old has been bugging me to take him over there! Thinking about maybe this weekend? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My friend and i are wanting to hit a lake and try some perch fishing. We don't want to drive more than 5 hours one way. I live in Brooklyn IA. Got any suggestions? The closer the better but we will drive to get better fishing if necessary.

The perch in cornelia are decent size but the bite has been slow.

if you are interested in catching bluegill or crappie i'd go to brushy creek i think it's a little farther away but you catch a lot of fish even on a slow day and we've been getting a few perch lately along with a few 12 inch crappie

we were wanting to target perch and some walleye. I guess we might bite the bullet and head to devils lake. Long drive but i here it is worth it.We have been killing crappies and gills for three weeks and want a change of scenery.

Fished it this morning got there at 7:00 got the holes drilled and found the fish 17 ft fow. They were pretty slow biting today. Fish on the bottom and at 11 fow. Keep seeing fishing coming in just above my jig and my spring bobber was moving. They were hitting my silver barrel swivel so I changed out my perch jig to a all silver jig. Then the fun started the perch were hitting it on the run, no looking or mouthing it now. Caught 5 perch the biggest was 10 inches long and one little walleye. fished till 8:45 There was no one else on the lake. The ice was a good 8" with 3 or 4 inches of bad ice/ now.If you go in on the north side be careful the road is very slick. If you fish there you can follow my tracks out to where I found the fish. Was looking for the hump but didn't want to drill holes all morning. Does any one have GPS coordinates for them?

If there is time to sit on the couch then I should be fishing.
