The Thorne Bros. Walleye Sweetheart is tough to beat for just about every trout application. They are pricey though. There not stiff enough for lakers which I use a fiberglass rod for.

28" med st croix premier.  Very sensitive so it handles smaller jigs well, but plenty of backbone for togue.  Size also makes it easy to use in a shelter.  I use that rod for smaller jigs, and a 36" Jason Mitchell mackinaw for bigger jigs.

I'm dead set on 4'6" (54") ultralight rods for trout.  Tried everything from tiny to full size and landed here.  For me it's about having enough rod action to let the rod and reel drag work in concert to keep a tight line without losing a big fish.  Big enough to do that, small enough to fit in the shelter.  As you can see in the pic, I use 'em for dead stickin', too.

For years, that meant an Eagle Claw BE204, no longer available.  I just purchased five Ugly Stik® GX2™ USSP461UL rods for my son (each will be joined by a Mitchell 310 Pro, by the way).
